Charles Phillips Oracle is one of few men that the software development industry has seen, as a true pioneer and a true visionary as well. Hailing from Little Rock in Arkansas he had his sights set on setting new milestones in the ever competitive industry of software development. Born on the year 1959, Charles has got an excellent academic career as he has multiple and prestigious qualifications such as BS in Computer Science from The United Sates Air Force Academy, MBA from Hampton University and also a JD from the New York Law School.

These stints on Wall Street lead him to an impressive job as a managing director at Morgan Stanley in the year of 1995, the very place which would open up new avenues in his professional career. Later on he was selected by Larry Ellison in 2003 to work in Oracle and there has been no looking back since then. But his career was just not limited to the corporate field as he had served the nation when he joined the United States Marine Corps as a captain in the information technology wing. He also happens to be an independent director at Viacom Inc.

His seven year stint at Oracle saw the firm’s revenue grow to phenomenal rates to 300% as they took over many other software firms like PeopleSoft, Seibel Systems, BEA Systems and Hyperion Systems to name a few. The total fiscal strength of the firm grew up from $9.5billion in the year of 2003 to $23.3 billion by the year of 2009.

Charles was named as the No.1 software enterprise software analyst by the Intuitional Investor Magazine and had also featured on the cover of Information Week in the year of 2000.
